AbbVie is seeking a Head of Data to lead a multidisciplinary team in defining and executing our ANZ data strategy, ensuring alignment with global business objectives while driving data-driven decision-making, enterprise reporting, and advanced analytics capabilities across the organisation. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead change management efforts to embed data-driven decision-making across the organization through the tools your team supports.
- Define and execute the ANZ data strategy aligned with local and global business objectives. In particular the partnership with our Global and BTS teams to support and sharp the requirements and capabilities to deliver future-fit data products for the business.
- Oversee the delivery of market, competitor, and customer insights to support commercial strategy and management of the data budget
- Ensure Data function act as partners with commercial teams to translate insights into actionable strategies
- Develop and oversee a universal enterprise reporting framework, including dashboards and analytics platforms in line with Global Visualization platforms.
- Be accountable for timely, accurate, and actionable reporting across all business functions
- Drive automation and self-service analytics capabilities for business units
- Maintain ongoing data governance frameworks, policies, and standards so teams understand where data sources originate and are utilized to form insights.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations through strong governance practices.
- Oversee master data management and data lifecycle processes to ensure prioritized data quality is managed and confidence in the data sources and visualisations produced by the team.
- Understand the data requirements in support of the deployment of machine learning models within the affiliate. Where appropriate maintain the delivery of global and local solutions support predictive analytics, personalized customer experiences, and automation initiatives.
- Identify, prioritise, and deliver AI/ML and advanced analytics solutions that improve customer engagement, operational efficiency, and commercial insights through AI use cases across the organisation both locally and in collaboration with the global data teams.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and evaluate emerging AI technologies or external partnerships to ensure AbbVie remains competitive and innovative.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with BTS, CEX, Commercial teams to ensure true partnership with the business to deliver data-led solutions in support of business priorities.
- Manage external partners and vendors where required
- Ensure delivery of initiatives on time, within scope, and with measurable outcomes
- Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.
- Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to AbbVie’s codes of conduct and compliance processes, including timely training and maintaining ethics and integrity.
- Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.
- 10+ years of experience in Business, data, analytics, or AI roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Information Systems, Data or Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field with a Postgraduate qualification (MBA, Master’s, or PhD) in a relevant discipline preferred
- Proven ability to define and deliver enterprise-wide data and AI strategies within a complex, matrixed organisation
- Demonstrated success in building, scaling, and developing high-performing data and analytics teams
- Expertise in Machine Learning/AI methodologies, Machine Learning Operations, and deploying advanced analytics solutions at scale
- Strong understanding of data architecture, engineering, governance frameworks, privacy, and compliance requirements
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link data initiatives to tangible business outcomes and influence senior and executive stakeholders
- Experience implementing enterprise reporting solutions and modern analytics platforms, including data product operating models
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences
- Experience leading organisational change, capability uplift, and driving data literacy and AI adoption across a business
- Proven ability to connect customer, business, and technology needs, partnering effectively across commercial, technology, and global teams
- Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other highly regulated industry environments preferred
